Liza and Nick met teaching at The Patchwork School in Louisville, CO. They were close friends and amazing co-teachers before they realized their affections towards one another. It's been ten years since then!

There's been lots of music, travel, concerts, hikes, camping, and fun. They've weathered many storms together and their relationship has only gotten stronger (both have gotten a little grayer and a little wiser).

Nick proposed in July 2025 on the Taos Gorge Bridge and Liza enthusiastically said "Yes!"
